El Nino Bueno recibe el Nobel

Regarding the Nobel Literature Prize announced this morning:  some Peruvians take issue with the fact that he chose to live in Spain, some writers take issue with his venturing into politics, some politicians take issue with his return to literature, some leftists take issue with his conservatism, some conservatives think he is too liberal; some Brazilians, like myself, take issue with the fact that it was a young Peruvian writer who wrote the ultimate book about Canudos and the drylands of Brazil.  No matter.  What is indisputable is his gift for telling stories, re-creating himself as Chivo, Nino Bueno, y el sobrino de la Tia Julia. A truly skilled artist with the passion and the determination to follow his dreams that has gifted all of us in return with timeless masterpieces.
